CanopiesAndTarps.com, like many e-commerce websites within the United States, does not ship outside of the continental US. The calculation of exact shipping costs is too difficult to determine based on the many different tax rates and duties charged by individual countries. Furthermore, international orders would make up a very small percentage of our annual shipments and would result in much higher shipping rates from our current, US based freight carriers.
We do realize that there is a demand for Canopy and Tarp products around the world and have published some research to assist you in placing international orders. There are currently several external shipping services that provide US based addresses. These providers are commonly referred to as Freight Forwarders. These services are unique because they will provide a US delivery address for incoming packages and will then forward the merchandise to the end consumer.
The provided US-based address can be used to purchase from CanopiesAndTarps.com or any other online store. Highly reputable, Freight Forwarders specialize in international shipping and offer extremely competitive rates to locations around the world. These services will not only provide a US-based address but will also inspect all incoming packages for damage before signing for the merchandise. Some of these services even offer a personal shopper.
Parcel Deliveries:
Parcel deliveries include packages that can be shipped by either Fed Ex or UPS. These are the most common type of packages shipped by CanopiesAndTarps.com and almost all freight forwarders will accept them. If you are ordering from multiple stores, Freight Forwarders can even consolidate your packages into a single shipment. This will ultimately reduce your shipping costs. If you are planning on ordering from multiple stores, be sure to discuss parcel consolidation with your freight forwarder.
Truck Deliveries (LTL Freight):
Generally, packages that are in excess of 150 Lbs. or longer that 80” cannot ship via UPS, DHL or Fed Ex. In this instance a freight carrier must be assigned to deliver the merchandise. Most Freight Forwarders are equipped with heavy equipment, such as forklifts, and will gladly accept your incoming shipments. If you know that your merchandise will be traveling through LTL Freight, be sure to discuss this with your Forwarder to avoid any unforeseen problems.
Personal Shoppers:
The personal shopper service is not offered by every Freight Forwarder. This service is provided for customers that do not have any method of purchasing from e-commerce websites due to payment problems. Most US based websites will not accept international credit cards and as a result, there is no method of purchasing goods. The process for personal concierge-style shopping is listed below.
1. Tell them who you're buying from
This can be an online retailer, or an auction site such as eBay, uBid, Yahoo Action, etc.
2. Tell them how they should pay the seller
Freight Forwarders will purchase the merchandise for you, using our US Credit card, our PayPal account, or by money order
3. Tell them what you want to buy
You list the items, quantities, and descriptions they need to complete the purchase.
Although we do not recommend any single Freight Forwarding service, we have compiled a list of dependable services for your convenience. Please keep in mind that this is a short list of providers and many other agencies can be found by researching online. Before choosing a Freight Forwarder, always do extensive research to be sure that they are a reputable and accredited company.
