The flat strip of steel is cold formed and then induction welded for ultimate strength. After the completion of the weld, the tubing then undergoes two separate dipping procedures called coating baths. The first dip bonds zinc to the tube, which is then followed up by, and additional coating, providing yet another layer of protection against rust and corrosion. The second and final part of the dipping process involves the application of clear polymer. This second coating bath is what gives the tubing a smooth and shiny finish but also acts as an additional protective barrier that will resist flaking over years of use.

Not all regions need a canopy that is designed for snow load use. Lighter weight frames and canopy covers are available for moderate climates and are used as temporary storage or shade. Shade canopies are perfect for dry hot climates with occasional strong winds such as Arizona and Nevada. The breath ability of the shade mesh is key for windy climates. Since the air is able to pass through the fabric the tension on the canopy frame is greatly reduced, decreasing the likelihood of collapse.
