Hurricane Katrina caused massive destruction to not only Louisiana but neighboring states as well. Within hours of making landfall, government agencies were in desperate need of temporary protection covers for residential housing that had been damaged throughout the course of the storm. In response, FEMA launched Operation Blue Roof and began searching for suppliers of tarpaulin products that could be distributed to those in need. Due to its large stock of readily available products, P.T.M, Inc. was able to provide thousands of tarps for the rescue and recovery efforts in the gulf coast.
